Melanie has also experienced the impacts of divorce, particularly in a family violence context, before becoming a lawyer. Therefore, she has a deep understanding of how terrifying and uncertain going through a separation and divorce can be, and the impacts family violence can have on this process.

Melanie has practiced exclusively in family law, and has extensive experience in divorce proceedings, children's issues, property divisions, de facto and same sex relationship issues.
